Funeral rites were held yesterday at 2:30 in the Methodist Episcopal church for Chas. Logue, 72, who died Friday following a heart attack at his home north of Estherville. The Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer, assisted by the Rev. Herbert Marsh of Rockwell City, officiated.

Pallbearers were Henry Peterson, Frank Bombarger, E. J. Maniece, Geo. West, Albert Irwin and Geo. Weir.

Interment was in the Oak Hill cemetery. The burial service was conducted by the Knights of Pythians.

Chas. Logue, son of John and Sarah Logue, was born May 1, 1866 at Washington, Iowa. He came to Emmet county 45 years ago and has lived here since. He was one of the earliest members of the Knights of Pythias, for 45 years he was a member of the Methodist church, where he showed special interest in the Bible class.

Mr. Logue was married to Emma L. Crumb on April 3, 1896. Five children were born, three sons and two daughters. Mrs. Logue preceded him in death several years ago. He is survived by Everett of Estherville, Flave of Los Angeles, Calif., Wayne of Alhambra, Calif., Mrs. John Commisky of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Floyd Rokenbrodt of Estherville.

Mr. Logue had seemed in good health Friday morning. He had finished chores and was preparing to go to town when he suddenly dropped dead. His daughter, Mrs. Floyd Rokenbrodt found him when she returned to the room. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 9, 1938)

Charles Austin Logue, son of John and Sarah Logue, was born May 1, 1866 at Washington, Iowa and passed away suddenly at his spacious farm home north of Estherville, August 5, 1938 at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 5 days.

He came to Emmet county 45 years ago and has been one of the substantial farmers of the county from that time until his demise. He was one of the early members of the Farm Bureau.

April 3, 1896 he was united in marriage to Emma L. Crumb of Estherville, Iowa. To this union the following children were born: Everett, Flave, Wayne, Zelda and Doris.

For approximately 45 years he has been a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal church with a special interest in the Men’s Bible class of that church. For 18 years he has been a member of the board of education of the Emmet County Consolidated school. Most of these years he has acted as president of this board. For approximately 20 years he has been a member of the Knights of Pythias at Estherville.

He leaves to mourn his passing, Everett, on a farm north of Estherville; Flave, Wayne and Zelda, nee Mrs. John Cummiskey, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Doris, nee Mrs. Floyd Rokenbrodt, at Estherville. Also one sister, Mrs. Ida McGaffey of Oakland, Calif., and seven grandchildren, his wife having preceded him in death, April 14, 1936.

Funeral services were conducted at the home August 8, 1938 at 2 p.m. and at the First M.E. church, Estherville, Iowa, at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Fred Ortmeyer in charge assisted by the Rev. Herbert Marsh of Rockwell, Iowa.

Interment was beside his wife in Oak Hill cemetery at Estherville, Iowa, where the Knights of Pythias lodge of Estherville conducted the services. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 11, 1938)
