Everett Logue Dies Suddenly at Farm Home

Everett Eugene Logue, prominent Emmet county farmer, died suddenly about 9:30 a.m. today at his home a mile southwest of Huntington. He was 56.

Mr. Logue earlier this morning had driven a tractor out to a field for his son Rex and had returned to the house for a cup of coffee. Mrs. Logue was outdoors at the time and when she returned she found him dead beside his half-finished cup of coffee.

Mr. Logue was born June 20, 1897, on the farm he now was living on. Except for nine years when he lived in Minnesota, he had resided on the same farm which his father before him had farmed. He returned from Minnesota in 1930.

On October 10, 1914, he married Willa E. Van Eman in Emmet county.

Active in community affairs, he was a member of the First Methodist church here, was president of the Federal Land bank at Emmetsburg, a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge, Brotherhood Sunday school class of the church, Methodist Men’s club, Farm Bureau and the Emmet Consolidated school board for many years and one time president of it.

Surviving his death are his widow; two sons, Glen of Jacksonville, Fla., and Rex, who operated the home farm with his father up to the time of Mr. Logue’s death; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Eloise) Reuland of Superior; and eight grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Wayne and Flave, both of Los Angeles, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. John Cummsky of Los Angeles and Mrs. Lloyd Rokenbrodt of Humboldt.

A son Dick preceded him in death about six years ago at the age of 13.

Funeral services have not been set pending word from relatives. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 15, 1954)
