Mr. and Mrs. Everett Logue are rejoicing over the arrival of a nice big baby boy that came to gladden their home Tuesday morning. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 26, 1921)

Child Found Dead in Its Bed
Austin Logue, the Little Son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Logue, Laid to Rest
Clyde Austin Logue, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Logue, was born Jan. 24 and died May 23, lacking only one day of being four months old. The little fellow was so far as could be seen in good health the day before his sudden death and had apparently been well and strong all his life. He was put to bed Sunday night at the usual hour and was soon asleep and acted as usual. When his mother awakened on the following morning about 5 o’clock and immediately looked at her baby and it was only to find him cold in death. The little fellow was sleeping in his little cab alongside his mother’s bed and in easy reach as had been his custom. From all appearances he had not even struggled in death. His slightest noise never failed to waken his mother and as not a sound had been heard it is though that his little heart simply quit working and it was all over. For two or three days the weather had been exceedingly hot and the atmosphere very heavy so that it is possible that a slightly weak heart could not keep up against such conditions.

Funeral services were held from the Logue home Tuesday afternoon. The sympathy of the community was shown by the very large number of friends and neighbors who attended the services and accompanied the bereaved parents to the cemetery. The flowers were many and beautiful. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. W. LaGrone of the Methodist Episcopal church, the pastor of the family. Mrs. C. P. Mauck and Mrs. R. R. Allison sang “Nearer My God to Thee,” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus.” Every one deeply sympathizes with the young parents in this great loss, also with the grandparents and other relatives who survive.
