John Lippert, Emmet Pioneer, Passed Away
Was Highly Regarded Citizen
(Twelve Mile Lake News)
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Estherville for John Lippert who died Thursday night at 11:45 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ralph Boercher. He had been ill for some time.

John Lippert was born February 28, 1867, at Niederhausen, Germany. On April 7, 1893 he was married to Miss Wilhelmina Levall. The golden wedding was only two days before he passed away.

After Mr. Lippert came to this country he worked at Cleveland, Ohio. Soon after they came to Emmet County where they farmed until his retirement about 15 years ago. Mr. Lippert was an industrious worker, a good neighbor and a kind husband and father.

He leaves to mourn his death, his aged wife who is too ill to realize her life’s partner has slipped into the Great Beyond; three daughters, Mrs. Amelia Bartels of Riceville, Mrs. Katherine Boercher of Estherville, and Mrs. Pauline Madsen of Graettinger; seven grandchildren and a brother who was still living in Germany when last heard from. A son, Albert, and a daughter, Augusta, died six weeks apart in 1922.

He was a life long member of the German Lutheran church. Rev. Lang of Estherville conducted the services and he was laid to rest in the Oak Hill cemetery beside his son and daughter.

Mr. Lippert has lived in Twelve Mile Lake township, being the owner of the farm on which he died, for several years, which is now owned by his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Boercher. Mr. Lippert was always a frugal, hardworking man and was respected by all who knew him. We extend our sympathy to the aged wife and the daughters.
