Obituary – Grace Coleman Linder
Miss Grace Coleman was born in Maquoketa, Jackson county, Iowa, October 19th, 1884; died in Estherville on Tuesday July 22, 1922, aged 37 years, 9 months and 3 days. In 1886 she moved with her parents to Humboldt county, near Livermore. She attended the high school of Livermore, and graduated from that school in 1900. The following year she attended Cornell College and remained in that college until 1902, when she came with her parents to Emmet county, where they settled on a farm near Dolliver. She taught school in Emmet county for two years, meeting with splendid success.On January 1st, 1908 she was united in marriage to Mr. L.E. Linder, at the home of her parents. The following year they moved to Plaza, North Dakota, where she resided until June this year when she came to Estherville for medical treatment.
She had been ill for a very long time but notwithstanding that she received the very best treatment known to medical skill, she gradually grew worse and her spirit departed to the God who gave it on the morning of July 22nd.
The deceased affiliated with the Presbyterian church at Livermore in 1900 and has been very active in church work since that time. She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star and was the first Worthy Matron of Laurel Chapter No. 87, at Plaza, North Dakota. The officers of the Estherville Eastern Star Chapter turned out in a body at the funeral Friday afternoon.
The funeral was held from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Coleman, conducted by Rev. Mitchell, of Saint Paul. There was a very large attendance of friends and relatives, who came to pay their last tribute to this greatly beloved lady.
Deceased is survived by her husband, parents, brother, Dr. R. C. Coleman and sister, Mrs. Sever T. Egertson, of Estherville. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 2, 1922)

Grace Coleman Linder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. Coleman of this city passed away at the Coleman home in this city last Tuesday after an extended illness. She was born October the 19th 1884 at Maquoketa, Jackson County. In 1886 she moved with her parents to Humboldt. She attended the schools at Livermore and graduated from the High School in the year 1900. She attended Cornell College at Mt. Vernon the two following years. At that time her parents had moved to Dolliver this county and she came to this county as an instructor in our schools. She was united in marriage Jan 1st 1903 at Dolliver to L. E. Linder of Plaza, North Dakota where they have resided since that time and at which place she was affiliated with the Presbyterian church, a member of the O.E.S. and a worthy Matron of the same. The funeral services were held from the Coleman home on Friday afternoon. The Rev. Mitchell formerly of this city but now of St. Paul officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery. The deceased is survived by her husband, L. E. Linder her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. I. Coleman, a brother, Dr. Coleman and a sister, Mrs. Sever Egertson.
