Funeral Rites Held Monday; Burial Made in Oak Hill CemeteryMrs. Genta Lyman Ketchum, 80, died Friday night at her home here after an illness of about a year. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Christian church.
Genta Stone, oldest daughter of George Stone and Lydia Naomi Isabel was born November 8, 1852 in Elmira, New York. She died December 24, 1932, at the age of eighty years, one month and sixteen days.
She moved to Jackson County, Minnesota with her parents in 1865 and the following winter came to Estherville to attend school. On February 23, 1868 she was united in marriage to Lewis Lyman and to this union were born three children: Fred Lyman, Mrs. Clyde Martin and Mrs. Lida Zunz of Estherville. Her husband died Jun 11, 1893, and in May, 1905 she married Amos Ketchum who died in January 1915.
Mr. and Mrs. Lyman were charter members of the Christian church of Estherville.
She leaves to mourn her loss, the three children, Fred Lyman, Mrs. Lida Zunz, Mrs. Marie Martin; two grandchildren, Mrs. Ora Brown and Frederick Martin of Estherville; five brothers, George Stone of Pipestone, Minn., Will Stone of Canton, S.D., Leon Stone of Mount Vernon, Wash., and Stanley Stone of Vancouver, Wash.
