George Keyes Dies After Long Illness
George Keyes, retired carpenter and brother of Mrs. Mary Hubbard and the late Mrs. Carrie Wilder of Wilder’s Variety store, died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday [January 26, 1952] at Holy Family hospital. In ill health for seven or eight years, he died at the age of 65.

Mr. Keyes was born April 1, 1886, in McConnelsville, Ohio.

He worked as a carpenter in Akron, Ohio, for a number of years and came to Estherville about 20 years ago, where he had lived with his sister, Carrie. She preceded him in death three weeks ago.

Surviving his death are a brother, Andrew Keyes, of Comonauk, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Hubbard of Estherville and Mrs. Elizabeth Osborne of Ashville, N.C. Mr. Keyes was unmarried.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Sternborg funeral chapel, the Rev. Thomas Melton officiating. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 28, 1952)
