Ingolf Ness, Wallingford, Services Set for Tuesday
Ingolf Gerhard Ness, 76, Wallingford, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Pannkuk officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Wallingford.
Mr. Ness was born March 7, 1896, at Stavanger, Norway, to Mr. and Mrs. Iver Ness. He was educated in Norway and came to Hamilton County, Iowa, with his parents in 1906. In 1910, they moved to a Palo Alto County farm near DePew and moved to Emmet County, 12-Mile Lake Township in 1916.
He was married Sept. 28, 1928, to Olga Refsell, Wallingford, and after their marriage they lived in Wallingford. He operated a garage until 1938 and was a master mechanic for the Coss Co. for 25 years. He retired in 1964.
He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion at Wallingford and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. of Estherville, a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shrine. He was also a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Olga of Wallingford; one son, Oliver of Omaha; three daughters, Mrs. Dale (Bernice) Holroyd, Oskaloosa, Mrs. Jonas (Joan) Hilderemyer, Grand Forks, N.D., and Mrs. Jack (Meriam) Mortimore, Waterloo; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Gilbert of Estherville, Aadne of Wallingford and Leonard of Wallingford; two sisters, Mrs. Chester Anderson of Wallingford and Mrs. Bertha Maaland, Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and one grandson.
Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, until noon on Tuesday.
