Heart Attack Fatal To Ed Carney

Edward James Carney, 69, rural Estherville, died early Sunday morning, Oct. 29, 1972, at his home of a heart attack.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Church, Estherville, with Msgr. James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be made in St. John’s Cemetery in Emmetsburg. The rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Mr. Carney was born May 26, 1903, in Emmetsburg to John and Anna Carney. He received his education in Emmetsburg schools and was graduated from St. Mary’s High School. On Jan. 11, 1945, he was married to Reba Gladys Hart of Armstrong. He farmed in the Emmetsburg and Dolliver areas.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Estherville. He is survived by his wife; one son, Matt; two brothers, William Carney, Emmetsburg and Leo Carney of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Mabry of Los Angeles, Lorena Carney, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Genevieve Buttimore of Fullerton, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Reding, Clarence Johnson, Leroy Larsen, Hans Hansen, Lloyd Johnson and Harvey Sorenson. Friends may call today and at any time until time of services Tuesday.
