Loren Oliver Moklestad Rites Held

Loren Oliver Moklestad, 56, Estherville, died early Saturday morning of a heart attack at Holy Family Hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Wiegman officiating. Burial was made in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Moklestad was born Sept. 11, 1916, at Forest City to Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Moklestad. He was educated in Forest City schools. He came to Estherville in 1944 and went into the ice cream business with his brother Harold, for a few years.

He was married Jan. 28, 1945, to Joyce Willey in Spencer.

For a number of years he operated the Friendly Tavern and for the past 10 years, the Welding Supply Co. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, Estherville; one son, Tom, a graduate student at the University of Oregon; one daughter, Lorie, a student at the University of Kansas; two brothers, Harold of Crystal Lake; Ray of Forest City; one sister, Mrs. Helen Applequist, Swea City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbeareres for the services were Paul Pearson, Myron Lund, James Currell, B.B. Shreck, Merrill Clark, Donald McAdams and D.L. McAdams. Reese-Henry Funeral Home of Estherville was in charge of arrangements.
