Mrs. Carl Ingvall, 74, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday [January 1, 1950] at her home in Estherville. She had been in failing health since suffering a fall six months ago and death was attributed to complications from the fall.

Mrs. Ingvall was born Julia Norris, January 14, 1875, in Lost Island township in Palo Alto county and received part of her education in the rural schools there. She moved at an early age to Illinois with her parents and received the rest of her education in that state.

In1899 she was married to Carl Ingvall of Estherville and except for two years spent in Jackson, the couple lived here from that time until his death a short time ago. Mr. Ingvall was an automobile and bicycle dealer in Estherville until his retirement.

She was a member of Estherville Lutheran church.

Survivors include a son, Edwin Ingvall of Minneapolis, and a daughter, Mrs. Art Sifrit of Estherville, a brother, Chris Norris of Graettinger, four grandsons and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, father and mother, one sister and four brothers.

Services were held this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Sternborg funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. in Estherville Lutheran church, Rev. L. G. Hinderaker officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers were six nephews, as she had requested before her death. They are Clifford, Clarence and Norman Ingvall, Albert and Martin Norris and Raymond O’Neill. (Graettinger Times, Graettinger, IA, January 5, 1950)
