Myrtle Morrill Whitehill, 1895-1971

Mrs. Percy (Myrtle Ella) Whitehill, 76, Estherville, died at 8:45 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family Hospital.

Mrs. Whitehill suffered heart trouble and strokes and had been ill for 2 ½ months.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church in Estherville with the Rev. Richard Pearson officiating. Burial will be in East Side cemetery.

Mrs. Whitehill was born March 19, 1895, to Mr. and Mrs. John Morrill of Passumpsic, Vt. She was educated in Passumpsic arae schools and Danville High School in Vermont.

She was married June 21, 1925, to Percy Whitehill at Passumpsic and they began farming near Dolliver. Later they moved to a farm north of Estherville where they lived until October, 1970, when they moved into Estherville.

Mrs. Whitehill had worked for a number of years on the election board of Emmet Township. She had, for years, been active in the Methodist Church at Huntington and had been active lately in the United Methodist Church in Estherville.

She is survived by her husband, Percy; three daughters, Mrs. Francis (Alice) Abell, Mrs. Owen (Arlene) Guerdet, both of Estherville, and Mrs. William (Mabel) Goede Jr., Cold Spring, Minn.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home.
