Hold Services for Pioneers During week
E. A. Ingvall, Mrs. Ole Anderson and Mrs. Larson Pass Away
E. A. Ingvall, 89, pioneer of Emmet county, passed away Friday [December 14, 1934] morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leroy Smith, after an illness of many months. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Free Methodist church with the Rev. Call officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Cook of Ruthven and the Rev. Maves, elder from Armstrong. Pall bearers were his grandchildren.

Eric Abraham Ingvall was born in Hedemore, Delarno, Sweden on May 3, 1845 and was married to Sara Catherine Anderson in 1869. To this union, ten children were born, of whom, six survive.
They came to America in 1896 and settled in Ruthven. Two years later they moved to Estherville, where he was employed mostly as a stone mason. During the last years he was a sexton at Oak Hill cemetery.

He was converted and joined the Free Methodist church here 31 years ago and he had been a faithful member ever since. He is preceded in death by his wife, who died Jan. 29th, 1931. He is survived by six children, Carl, Dave, Victor and Mrs. Leroy Smith of Estherville, Mrs. Agnes Trotzig of Louisburg, Minn., and Mrs. Fred Saunders of Kansas City. Also 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Out of town friends and relatives who attended were Mrs. Agnes Trotzig of Louisburg, Minn., Mrs. Fred Saunders of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Culver and son of Dunlap, Rev. and Mrs. Cook of Ruthven, Rev. and Mrs. Maves and parents of Armstrong, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Norris, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Norris, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Christiansen, D. T. O’Neill, Norris O’Neill, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Bisgard of Graettinger, Miss Juanita Hanson and Oscar Barstrom of Ruthven, Ed Johnson of Terril, Mrs. Whitacre of Gruver and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Merzena of Milford. Funeral Rites for A. E. Ingvall Held Sunday Afternoon
A.E. Ingvall, another pioneer of this city, passed away last Friday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leroy Smith. Mr. Ingvall came to this country when a youth. He was born in Sweden in1845. We have known him for many years and while he was quiet and unassuming, he was a fine man after you became acquainted with him. He was a great lover of fishing and out of door life.

He is survived by six children, Carl. E., David, Victor, and Mrs. Smith of this city and Mrs. Freda Saunders of Kansas City and Mrs. Agnes Trotzig of Louisberg, Minn.

The funeral services were held from the Mahlum and Anderson Undertaking Parlors at two o’clock on Sunday and from the Free Methodist church at two-thirty, the Rev. Call officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 19, 1934)
