Percy W. Whitehill, 1892-1983

ESTHERVILLE – Service for Percy W. Whitehill, 90, of Estherville will be 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church at Estherville with burial and full military rites in the East Side Cemetery at Estherville.

He died Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Center at Estherville. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at Henry and Olson Funeral Home at Estherville and one hour prior to services at church.

He was born Aug. 19, 1892, in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. He attended schools in New Hampshire and married Myrtle E. Morrell June 21, 1925, in Passumpsic, Vermont. They moved to a farm near Dolliver, Iowa and in 1941 they moved to a farm near Estherville. They moved into town in 1970. He had been at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville since 1973. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion and a veteran of World War I. She died in 1971.

Survivors include his daughters, Mrs. Francis (Alice) Abell of Canyon City, Calif., Mrs. Owen (Arlene) Guerdet of Estherville, Mrs. William (Mabel) Goede of Cold Spring, Minn.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
