Mrs. John Gifford Dead
Mrs. John Gifford [Margaret, May 1849. OH, per 1900 census] died at her home in this city, after a brief illness, Friday [May 26, 1911] morning. Funeral was held from the Christian church Monday afternoon and interment made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Her sons, Wm. Gifford and wife, of Minneapolis; Frank Gifford of Iowa Falls; a sister, Mrs. S. E. Wickham, of Chicago; and a brother, Mr. Jacob McLaughlin, of Ottawa, Illinois, were her to attend the funeral. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 31, 1911)

The funeral of Mrs. John Gifford, an old resident of Iowa, was held at Estherville and interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery. Mrs. Gifford was 73 years old and had been a resident of Iowa since 1854. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 7, 1911)
