Mrs. G.A. Stone Of Armstrong Dies

ARMSTRONG—Mrs. Sophie Stone died Thursday at her home following an 18 months illness resulting from a hart ailment. She was 85.

Born March 12, 1867, in Sweden, she came to this country with two friends in 1891 and settled at Rockford, Ill. She was married Christmas Eve 1897 to G.A. Stone and resided at Marseilles, Ill., until 1907 when they moved to Iowa.

Mr. Stone farmed near Armstrong until he retired in 1919 and moved to Armstrong. He died July 21, 1938.

Surviving are a daughter, Miss Elva Stone, at home; two sisters Mrs. Alma Pearson of Denver, Colo., and Miss Johanna Person of Torfat, Sweden, and a nephew, Holver Pearson of Dulce, N.M.

Services will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday at the Presbyterian church with Rev. Alex Orr assisted by Rev. S.E. Polovina, officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove cemetery.
