Mrs. Ed Ellis Passes Away
Word comes of the death of Mrs. Ed Ellis in St. Paul today. The remains will arrive here this afternoon for burial. Mrs. Ellis left here sometime ago with her husband and for a time resided in Chicago.Mrs. Ellis is a pioneer of this city. The obituary is not available for this issue. The funeral services will be held from the Christian Church, tomorrow afternoon at two o’clock. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, May 27, 1931)
Mrs. Edward [Edwin] Ellis
Mrs. Mollie Ellis was born in Hamburg, Germany, September 29, 1865, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frank. She came to the United States with her parents when five years of age and lived at Davenport until they moved to Emmet County in the year 1882.They moved on a farm in Twelve Mile Lake Township. On December 25, 1884, she was united in marriage to Edward Ellis. They lived in Estherville until seven years ago when they moved to South Bend, Ind. In September, 1930, she went to Minneapolis for a visit with her daughter. Here she was taken sick and was in the City Hospital for about a month preceding her death, which came on May 26, 1930, at 12:00 o’clock noon.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Ellis, South Bend, Ind.; and her children, Mrs. Gus R. Schaefer, Renville, Minn.; Robert Ellis, Minneapolis, Minn.; Roy Ellis, Cassopolis, Mich.; Mrs. Lloyd Hayes, Minniapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Geo. Poscharscky, Niles, Mich.; Edith Ellis, South Bend, Ind.; Mrs. Joe Merkle, Ft. Pierce, Florida; and brothers and sisters, Will Frank, Lathrip, Calif.; Mrs. Lena Houltshouser, Minneapolis, Minn.; Geo. Frank, Estherville; Mrs. Frank Hastings, Emmetsburg; Ben Frank, Urbana; Mrs. Leonard Gorton, Estherville; John Frank, Estherville; Waltuer Frank, San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Aaron Smouse, Coon Rapids.
