Clara Weller Harvego, 1884-1971

Mrs. Clara Rosamond Harvego, 87, Estherville, died Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Center from the infirmities of advanced age. She was born Jan. 6, 1884, at Armstrong to Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Weller.

She received her education in Armstrong schools and taught school in 1905 and 1906 in the Sunde Valley school east of Huntington. She spent her entire life in Emmet County.

She was married Oct. 17, 1906, to Ernest Harvego at the Harvego farm in Ellsworth township and they farmed in the Huntington area. Following Mr. Harvego’s death in 1943 she made her home with her children until she entered the nursing home in 1970.

She was interested in politics and for many years served on the election board. She was member of the United Methodist Church in Huntington, was active in WSCS and taught Sunday school.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Fred E. (Buena) Anderson, Dunnell; Mrs. Holger (Irene) Aagard, Huntington; and Mrs. Russell (Myrtle) Natterstad, Estherville; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one brother, William Weller, Huntington; and one sister, Mrs. L. N. Hanson, Brainerd, Minn.

Friends may call Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 7 p.m. until noon Saturday.
