Mrs. Rose Dunmire, Former Resident, Dies Saturday
Mrs. Rose Dunmire, daughter of John Blagg of Estherville, died at her home in Rusk, Texas, Saturday [November 23, 1935]. Her passing was a shock to family and friends as her illness was of short duration.Mrs. Dunmire was born here June 11, 1896, and resided in Emmet county until going to Laramie, Wyo., to teach and where she met and married Maurice V. Dunmire on August 16, 1928. The following year they moved to Rusk which had continued to be her home until her death.
The education of the esteemed woman as received in Center township schools, Estherville high school from which she graduated in 1915 and at the University of Iowa. She taught at Clarion, Estherville and at Laramie.
Surviving are her father and husband, one sister, Mrs. H. A. Haywood and a brother, Walter Blagg of Estherville.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Blagg home at two o’clock. Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer of the Methodist church will be in charge. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 26, 1935)
Dr. and Mrs. F. M. Minnich went to Estherville yesterday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Maurice Dunmire. Mr. Dumire and Dr. Minnich were boyhood friends and were raised together. The Dunmires lived in San Antonio, Texas and the body was brought up to Estherville, her old home for burial. Mr. Dunmire is a road contractor. (Laurens Sun, Laurens, IA, November 28, 1935)
