Mrs. R. H. Dodds
Mrs. R. H. Dodds [Annie Redpath Dodds], mother of Mrs. W. J. Weir and Mrs. S. M. Chambers, died last Friday [September 22, 1905] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Stewart. She was ill only thirty-six hours and her death was due to hemorrhage of the brain. She had been in good health prior to her last illness and was at Armstrong assisting in caring for her daughter, Mrs. Stewart, who is critically ill. It is feared she will not withstand the shock occasioned by her mother’s death. Mrs. Dodds was seventy years of age and had made her home for some time with her daughter, Mrs. W. J. Weir of Emmet township. Her husband died several years ago, but she is survived by two sons and four daughters. The children are R. H. and J. T. Dodds of St. Louis; Mrs. W. E. Postle, of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. W. J. Weir, Mrs. S. M. Chambers and Mrs. Geo. Stewart all of this county.

The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. W. E. McLeod. The remains were interred in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, September 27, 1905)
