Catherine "Cassie" Hoople Bartleman 1862-1894

Mrs. Catherine Bartleman was born in Canada, Sept. 14th, 1862, and moved from there with her parents, when but a child, to Illinois, where in 1879 she married Benjamin Bartleman, and with him came to Benton county, Iowa, where they lived until about three years ago. At that time they came to Emmet county and during their residence here have made many friends. Nearly two years ago she became an earnest Christian and as such she lived until death claimed her on Wednesday, Nov. 21st, ’94. The funeral service took place at the family residence in Emmet township and the remains were laid to rest in the west side cemetery at Estherville. Mrs. Bartleman leaves a husband and six children to mourn her loss. – C.A. Palmer (Northern Vindicator, Estherville, IA, November 29, 1894)

Catherine Hoople was born in Canada September 14, 1862, died November 21, 1894. She moved from there with her parents, when but a child to Illinois, where in 1879 she was married to Benjamin Bartleman and with him came to Benton county, Iowa, where they resided until about three years ago when they came to Emmet county, Iowa where they have made many friends. Nearly two years ago she was converted, and in the Lord she has sweetly trusted until he has said “it is enough, come up higher” and with the heavenly vision clear and bright, she bade adieu to earth and earthly friends to receive the crown of [unreadable].
