Mrs. Andrew F. Krantz Dead
Has Lived Here With Her Son, Chas. Krantz, for Some Time and Well Known HereMrs. Andrew F. Krantz, whose maiden name was Matilda Sophia Peterson, was born in Doederhult, Kalmer Laen, Sweden, November 5, 1851. She came to Galesburg, Illinois in 1870 and to Varna, Illinois 1873.
She was united in marriage to Andrew F. Krantz January 23, 1876; to this union eight children were born, of which 3 died in infancy. She passed away at her home in this city November 9, 1917, at the age of 66 years and 4 days.
She is survived by a husband and 5 children; Charles F., John I. and Mrs. Minnie Heidecker of this city; Elmer T. of Wenona, Illinois and Mrs. Huldah Peterson of Dunnell, Minn., and also be eleven grand children. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Akre on Monday from the Norwegian Lutheran church and the remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Krantz was a devoted and loving wife and mother, a devout Christian and had all her life been a member of the Lutheran church in which she was born and raised. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, November 14, 1917)
