Obituary – Andrew F. Krantz
Andrew F. Krantz passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. Heidecker, last Friday [November 14, 1919] morning after a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Estherville Lutheran church, of which he was a member, by his pastor. S. A. Berge. He was laid to rest in the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery.
Mr. Krantz was born in Jonkopings, Laen, Sweden, July 25, 1845. Like so many of his countrymen he came to America when a young man, coming to Marshall county, Illinois in 1872. There he was united in marriage to Mathilda Peterson. In 1903 he came with his family to Emmet county, Iowa. He lived at Dunnell, Minnesota, for five years and the rest of the time he resided here, of late making his home with Mrs. L. Heidecker. Two years ago his wife passed away and now he followed her. He leaves to mourn his loss five children: Chas. F., John I., Mrs. L. Heidecker of this city; Elmer I. of Wenona, Illinois, and Mrs. Hulda Peterson, of Dunnell, Minn., also twelve grandchildren, two sisters, one of whom is Mrs. A. Hagar of this city, and other relatives. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, November 19, 1919)
