Wm. T. Koop Died At Brother’s Home
Victim of the White Plague – Sick for Past Five Years – Funeral Services Yesterday

Death came to relieve the suffering of Wm. T. Koop last Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. For five years he had been an invalid from a complication of diseases which finally developed into tuberculosis, and death was a welcome messenger to release him from his earthly trials. He came to this city last January from Minneapolis and made his home with his brother, E. H. Koop. He was given the best medical attention and care but the disease was too far developed to be cured.

Mr. Koop was born in Chicago on December 12th, 1873, being at the time of his death 45 years, 6 months and 19 days of age. He made his home in Minneapolis for a number of years and it was in that city that he was stricken with his fatal illness. He leaves a wife and two children. Mr. Koop was known as a man of splendid integrity and character among his associates and made many friends during his stay in this city.

He is survived by two brothers and four sisters as follows: E. H., of this city; Fred, of White Pine, Montana; Mrs. Hannah Marthe, of Minneapolis; Mrs. F. F. Engles, Hollywood, Calif.; Mrs. S. T. Penna, Detroit, Mich., Mrs. A. A. Bush, St. Paul. The children are Chas. Koop, of New York City, who is in the navy and was unable to attend the funeral services; a daughter, Mrs. Louis Truhler, of St. Paul, who was present at the funeral. The brother Fred, and sisters, Mrs. Engles and Mrs. Penna, were unable to be present.

Funeral services were held from the residence of his brother at 2:30 p.m. yesterday and burial was made in Oak Hill cemetery. Rev. Hurley of the Baptist church was in charge of the services. Many beautiful floral offerings were sent by friends and neighbors, and the different fraternal orders. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in this hour of sorrow.
