Mrs. A. Kober Died Last Friday Afternoon
Funeral Services Held Monday Afternoon from Methodist Episcopal Church of This City

Mrs. A. Kober, who has been quite sick for the past two weeks, was relieved of her suffering last Friday [August 29, 1919] afternoon when she was called to her Heavenly home to receive the reward of a life well spent. Mrs. Kober was known and respected by many of our people and she will be sorely missed by the large circle of friends. Her death was a shock to relatives and friends and although she had been ill for a short time it was not thought to be serious and she appeared to be improving until just a short time before her death.

Mary Johnson was born in Denmark. She was united in marriage to Alex Kober in August, 1885, at Deadwood, South Dakota. To this union one child was born who died at the age of five months and four days. Mrs. Kober as a child was brought up in the Lutheran faith, but later affiliated with the Methodist church. This city has been her home for the past 28 years, and in that time she lived a life that shall ever remain a monument to her memory. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her departure to that better world the following brothers and sisters:

Mrs. Anna Clark, Sergeant Bluffs, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Ross Johnson, of White Lake, South Dakota; Mrs. Stena Hanson, of Huron, South Dakota; Mrs. Dora Moltz and Anton Johnson, of Huron; Mrs. Leo Morris and Fred Johnson, of De Smet, S. Dakota; Chris Johnson, of Ringsted, Iowa; besides two nieces, Mrs. Emma Fredrichsdorf, of De Smet, South Dakota, and Miss Jettie Clark, of Sergeant Bluffs, Iowa.

We join the many friends in extending deepest sympathy in this hour of grief to the sorrowing loved ones. May He Who doeth all things well look down with compassion and heal the breaking hearts. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, September 3, 1919)
