Ralph E. Dickey Loses Little Son

Clarence, the seven-year-old son of Ralph E. Dickey, of this city, died at his home last Saturday morning. The little fellow contracted influenza which developed into pneumonia and the end came after a hard struggle for life. The body was taken to Waterloo Sunday morning, where it was laid to rest beside the mother who had passed on to a better world just a week before. All that is left of the once happy family is the father and one son five years old. This son has been seriously ill, but at this time is reported as improving. Mr. Dickey has the sympathy of all Estherville in his affliction. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, December 11, 1918)
