Mrs. Maria E. Youngman [Youngblood] Died at Her Home Saturday Morning
Lived Here Thirteen Years
Was Mother of Mrs. J. E. Galvin – Funeral Held Monday – Burial Made in East Side Cemetery

Mrs. Maria E. Youngman [Youngblood], mother of Mrs. J. E. Galvin, died at the home of her daughter in this city, Saturday morning. She had been ill since spring. The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Burial was made in East Side cemetery.

Marie E. Youngman [Youngblood] was born in Syracuse, New York, April 18th, 1835. In 1840 she married John Manchester, and the family moved to Waterloo. Three children were born to this union, F. C. Manchester, of Davenport; W. C. Manchester, of Sioux City and Mrs. Rose Hill of Alton. After Mr. Manchester’s death the widow married W. Youngblood of Waterloo. One child, Mrs. Jerry E. Galvin, was born to this union. Mr. Youngblood died in 1905. Mrs. Youngblood has resided with Mrs. Galvin since his death. The Galvin family has lived here about twelve years. During that time Mrs. Youngblood has formed many acquaintances. She was an excellent old lady and is mourned by many friends. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, October 13, 1909)
