Died – At the residence of his daughter, Mrs. George Mattson, in Estherville, Iowa, March 11, 1887, of consumption, Walter Dodgson, aged fifty-four years [birthdate: October 18, 1833]. Mr. Dodgson has been a victim of the disease for ten years, eight years of the time being an invalid. The deceased was highly esteemed by all who knew him and his death although long expected, creates universal regret. (Northern Vindicator, Estherville, IA, March 18, 1887)
