Mrs. Laura Hanson Is Dead at 97

Mrs. Laura Hanson, 97, Estherville, died at 4:15 a.m Saturday at the Good Samaritan Center from infirmities of advanced age.

She was born March 14, 1872, on a farm near Elma, in Howard County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Boggess.

She came to Estherville in about 1890 and was employed for a time at the Old Emmet House Hotel. She married Oscar Hanson, a plumber here for many years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roy Scrymiger of Minneapolis, three granddaughters and three grandsons, and a brother, John Boggess, of Estherville.

Her husband, her parents, and a son, Harold, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reese-Henry Chapel in Estherville, with burial in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of funeral.
