Prominent Farmer Dies Here

William Thomas Schaper, prominent Emmet township farmer and active Farm Bureau member, died suddenly at 2:15 a.m. today at Holy Family Hospital. He died of a coronary occlusion at the age of 42.

Mr. Schaper had a heart attack Sunday and has been in the hospital. Previous to this he had not been seriously ill.

Born May 3, 1909, near Buffalo Center, Mr. Schaper moved with his parents to Emmet county in 1917 and has continued to live here. He married Mae Kirchner on May 25, 1932. They have lived on their present farm a mile north of Estherville for the past 12 years.

Mr. Schaper was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Emmet Consolidated school board for several years, was active in Farm Bureau, and was treasurer the past two years.

Surviving his death are his wife; two daughters, Rosalie, 18, and Donna, 14; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Schaper; five brothers, August, Henry, Otto and Raymond of Estherville and Fred of Kenyon, Minn.; four sisters, Mayme Schaper, Mrs. Nolan Boggess, and Mrs. Nels Christensen of Estherville and Mrs. E.E. Johnson of Houston, Tex. His father and a sister preceded him in death.

Funeral arrangements are pending word from Mrs. Schaper's father in California.
