ESTHERVILLE-Services for August H. Schaper, 78, will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clifford Haider officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday when the body goes to the church to lie in state. He died in St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Sunday.

He was born Feb. 12, 1903 near Buffalo Center, Ia., the son of August and Minnie (Lindeman) Schaper. He received his education in the Buffalo Center schools. He moved to Emmet County in 1917 and has lived here since. He farmed northwest of Estherville. On Sept. 3, 1942 he married Dorothy Perrin at Jackson. He farmed until his retirement in 1979.

He was a member of the Emmet County Farm Bureau.

Mr. Schaper is survived by one son Ronald of Des Moines, one daughter, Mrs. Martin (Sharon) Svendsen, Rochester, Minn., three grandchildren; two brothers, Otto Schaper, Estherville and Henry Schaper, Auburn, Calif.; two sisters, Mayme Schaper and Mrs. Nolan (Lena) Boggess both of Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers and three sisters.
