ESTHERVILLE-Services for Otto Robert Schaper, 87, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Besore, III officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1987 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

He was born July 28, 1900 at Buffalo Center, the son of August and Minnie (Lindeman) Schaper. He attended Buffalo Center schools. On Feb. 14, 1922 he was united in marriage with Ruby Mae Swartz at Estherville. He worked as a mechanic for Henaman Motors Ford in Estherville until he started farming in 1939. He retired in 1972 after 33 years farming. In 1978 the couple moved into Estherville.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon, Elder and Trustee; DEK Board, Emmet County Soil Conservation Board and was Iowa Master Farmer in 1957.

Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Harold (Lois) Lenox, Estherville; Mrs. William (Delores) May, Spirit Lake and Mrs. William (Joanne) Arthur, Greenville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mayme Schaper and Mrs. Nolan (Lena) Boggess both of Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife who died Dec. 14, 1980; one great-grandson; five brothers and three sisters.
