O. Hanson Dies At Cherokee

Was Plumber in Estherville For Many Years; Funeral Rites Today With Burial Here

Oscar Hanson, 73, died Monday night in a hospital in Cherokee. Mr. Hanson had not been in good health since Christmas. Cause of his death has not been learned by relatives yet.

Hanson is well known in Estherville, having been engaged in the plumbing buiness here for a number of years.

Oscar Hanson was born in Norway, May 2, 1871. He came to Emmet Co. as a child, moved with his parents to Decorah and returned to Estherville when a young man. In 1895, he was united in marriage to Miss Laura Boggess, of Estherville.

He is survived by his wife, two children, a son, Harold Hanson, Danville, Ill. and a daughter, Mrs. Emmet Callhan, Minneapolis, five grandchildre and two sisters, Mrs. Hulda Foss, Decorah and Mrs. Tilda Ness, Fairfield, Mont.

Funeral services were held in the Sternborg funeral chapel today, with Rev. L.A. Mathre officiating. Burial was made in the East Side cemetery.
