Eugene Edward Cooper
Eugene Edward Cooper, son of Edward and June Cooper, was born October 25, 1857, at Beloit, Wisconsin. After spending the earlier part of his life in Wisconsin he came to Iowa in 1880. For a time he resided in Pottawattamie county but for the last twenty years lived in and near Estherville. He was one of a family of eight children. His parents, five brothers and one sister have preceded him in death.

On Jun 25, 1901, he was united in marriage to Flora Walbridge. They made their home on a farm near Spirit Lake for many years, later moving to Estherville where they have lived the past fourteen years. He is survived by his widow and three stepchildren, Mrs. Georgia Winter of Petersburg, Minnesota, Mrs. Hazel Triggs at home and Harry Cooper of Arnolds Park; also one sister, Marion Cooper of Council Bluffs, and several grandchildren.

Mr. Cooper was a most kindly neighbor. He retained the friendship of those with whom he came in contact in a business way and was ever willing to assist with neighborly undertakings. With his family he was always considerate and devoted.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were Miss Marion Cooper and Mrs. John Blanchard of Council Bluffs, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Belcher of Nevada, Mrs. John Winter, daughter Irma and son Howard of Petersburg, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Boughy and daughter Joyce of Havelock, Mr. and Mrs. August Bendixen of Carroll, Mrs. Madge Walbridge and son Harold of Terril. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 15, 1932)
