FEGER RITES HELD HERE AT 9:30 SATURDAY
The funeral of Simon Feger, who passed away on Thursday afternoon at the Coleman hospital, was held at St. Patrick’s church in this city at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Six sons acted as pallbearers.
Mr. Feger was born in Baden, Germany, and came to this country at the age of nineteen years, his parents, brothers and sisters following two years later.
He settled In New Berlin, Ill., where he lived until 1917 when he moved to the state of Iowa where he remained until his death.
Had 12 Children
He was united in marriage to Frances Winkler on Sept. 25, 1888. To this union were born 12 children, two daughters and one son having preceded him in death.
He was 88 years old July 22. He had hoped to live to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife In September, having already received numerous gifts for this occasion, some being sent from Germany.
Many Survivors
He is survived by his widow, seven sons, Frank, Joseph, John, Henry, Carl and Walter of Estherville, Simon of Condordia. Kans.; two daughters, Mrs. George Vancura of Eau Claire, Wis., Mrs. Wilfred Levell of Spirit Lake; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Fricke of Spirit Lake, and five grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attending the funeral from out-of-town were Joseph Feger, William Feger, Mrs. Clarence Wolf and Mrs. J. Weitzel, all of Springfield, Ill., Frank Kring and sons, William and Paul, of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. George Vancura and sons, Carol, James and Robert, of Eau Claire, Wis.; Mrs. Albert Vancura and son, Gerald, Miss Lucille Stinar, Joseph Pietz and Peter Pjetz, all of Lakefield, Minn.; Mrs. Agnes Fricke and sons, Joseph and William, of Spirit Lake.
