FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT DIES IN CALIFORNIA
Chauncey R. Ammon Buried Last Wednesday
Word was received here today of the death of Chauncey R. Ammon, well-known former resident of Estherville, Monday, Aug. 23, in Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Ammon, who was 83 years old, left this community 28 years ago to go to California. His wife died in 1924.
He is survived by several cousins, children of the late J.J. Klopp of Estherville. Among them is Dorothy Kloop, former Emmet county auditor, who has been with the Ammon family for several years in California.

Mr. Ammon was an extensive property owner while he was living in Estherville and he conducted a flour milling plant, the original “mill-dam” power plant which was located near the present site of the electric light plant. He was associated with the late Cleod M. Brown in the mill until the mill was destroyed by fire.
