Nicholas Albert was born at Smallenberg, Barvaria [sic], Germany, April I3, 1850; departed this life July 11, 1914, aged 64 years, 2 months and 28 days. In 1853 he moved with his parents to America locating at Meadville, Pennsylvania where he lived for twelve years removing in 1866 to Iowa, locating at Brandon. December 12, 1876, he was united in marriage to Amanda Fonts, of Brandon, and to this union was born four children, three daughters and one son, Mrs. O.A. King of Charles City, Michael Albert of Milford, Merta Albert of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Anna Albert of Estherville. In 1892 he with his family moved to Estherville where he made his home until about a year ago. As the result of failing health, the past year was spent with his children, where loving hands ministered to his every need. Three weeks ago, he and his wife moved to Sioux
Falls, South Dakota, where his daughter is employed, but scarcely had they moved into their new home when he was seized with a third stroke of paralysis and death speedily followed. Besides his wife and children there remains to mourn his departure four sisters and two brothers: Elizabeth Emmings of Chicago, Peter Albert of Iowa Falls, Kate Schublin of Dubuque, Jacob Albert and Jennie Beachler of Branden and Mrs. P.A. Fouts of this place.

Services were held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Whitfleld assisted by Rev. Hurd.
