Death of Joe Bagan.

Mr. Joe Bagan, formerly of Estherville, died at his home at Iowa Falls Saturday morning at 8:30. Mr. Bagan was a fireman on the C.R.I. & P. railroad from Estherville for eleven years when he moved to Iowa Falls. After moving there he had very poor health but he did not give up railroading until a year ago when he started a rooming house at that place. Mr. Bagan was operated on for gall stones March 10, but it was found he was suffering from stomach trouble. He lived for thirteen days after the operation. He would have been forty years old April 16. His remains were conveyed to this city Monday. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the Catholic church. Father Murtagh of this city, Father Nolan of Iowa Falls and Father Roth of Larchwood officiated at solemn High Mass.

The relatives and friends from out of town were: Father Nolan, Iowa Falls; Father Roth, Larchwood; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lynch, Eldora; Mr. and Mr. J. Carrey and Frank Bagan of Chester; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bagan, George Bagan, Mr. and Mrs. Will Carrey, Mrs. Doyle, Wm. Doyle, and Mr. and Mrs. Towey of Albert Lea; Wm. Rush of Carleous, Minn.; and Mrs. Maggie Martin of Fort Dodge.

Joe P. Bagan was born at Beaver County, Minnesota, in 1874; where he lived until seven years of age when lie with his parents moved to a farm near Dolliver where he lived until he was twenty-five years of age. He then moved to Estherville where he was engaged on the railroad. He made his home in this city until three years ago when he moved to Iowa Falls. He leaves to mourn his death a wife and four children, his mother, Mrs. Bagan of Estherville; four brothers, Dennis, William, and David of Estherville, and Pat of Waterloo; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Lynch of Eldora, Mrs. W. A. Swift and Mrs. Ray Yepson of this city.
