Charles Fank was born in Luxemburg, Germany, Dec. 1, 1884. He came with his parents to this country when he was nine years old and the family settled at Blairsburg, Iowa. He came with the family to Emmet county in 1902. Mr. Fank was united in marriage to Mary Blumm at Estherville, Oct. 10, 1906 and they have since resided on a farm near Dolliver. Seven children were born to this couple: six daughters, and one son. They are Mrs. Arthur Steinhorst of Monterey, Minn-, Mrs. Everett Johnson and Mrs. Rush Johnson of Estherville, Elizabeth, Ethel, Barbara, and John at home.
He is also survived by his widow, four brothers and six sisters. One sister, Katharine having preceded him several years ago. The brothers are Peter Fank of Estherville, John Fank of Britt, Baltan Fank of Clarion, and Nick Fank of Olivia, Minn. The sisters are Miss Joephine Fank of Estherville, Mrs. Ben Blumm of Ceylon. Minn., Mr.s. C. F. Reinhart of Dunnell, Minn., Mrs. Ed Reinhart of Groton, S. D., Mrs. W. D. Anderson of Walcott, N. D., Mrs. Philip DeLagoon of Fergus Falls, Minn.
Mr. Fank had undergone had undergone an operation for appendicitis at a hospital in Estherville and was thought to be recuperating satisfactorily, expecting to return home in a day or two, when, he died suddenly Sunday evening, Oct. 21.
For many years Mr. Fank was a township trustee and had served for past two years on the local creamery board. He was actively interested in the community M. E. church in Dolliver.
Funeral services wert conducted Wednesday by Rev. C. R. Yeager, pastor of the Dolliver Community M. E. church at the House at two p. m. and at the church at 2:30. Interment was in the cemetery at Estherville.
