Colman Arthur Karlsven Services Held Thursday

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday for Colman Arthur Karlsven in Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stan Eyberg officiating. Burial was made in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Karlsven died at the age of 76. He was born Feb. 15, 1897, in Lakefield, Minn., to George and Eveline Karlsven Sr. He attended Lakefield schools and was married on May 22, 1922, in Lakefield to Julia Hodnefield.

They farmed in the Lakefield area until he retired in 1948 and moved to Estherville where he had lived ever since. He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church, a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by one son and one daughter, George L. Karlsven, Dallas, Tex., and Mrs. Frank (Florence) Jesmain, Fort Worth, Tex.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, one brother and one grandchild

Serving as honorary pallbearers at the funeral services were the Rev. Christian Notsund, Arthur Goede, William Hodnefield, Oscar Hodnefield, Carl Hodnefield and Carl Shaw. Active pallbearers were Dale Rawlings, Calvin Stade, Carol Hoganson, Lloyd P. Olson, Joseph Hanson, Martin Natterstad.

Music for the services was performed by Mrs. Ernest Hodnefield as soloist and Janet Espeset as organist. Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of arrangements.
