Lewis Lande, 71, Dies; Funeral Held Wednesday

Lewis Lande of Estherville died at his home Saturday afternoon at 2:45. He suffered a stroke in July from which he never fully recovered. He was 71 years old at the time of his death.

Lande was the son of Andrew A. and Inger Lande and was born Feb. 10, 1874, in Polk county near Des Moines. He moved to this community a few years later where he has since resided. Lande was confirmed at the Union State Line Church Nov. 11, 1888.

Lande was united in marriage to Annie Anderson of Iowa Falls, Sept. 4, 1905. They had four daughters. Mr. Lande worked for many years on the railroad but has been retired for the past six years.

He is survived by his widow and four daughters, Mrs. Elvin Bringle and Miss Alma Lande of this city, Mrs. Max McMillin and Mrs. John Lehmann of Iowa Falls; by four grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ida. Olson, and two brothers,
Ben and Martin, both of Estherville.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the home and 2 at the Estherville Lutheran church. Interment will be at the Oak Hill cemetery.
