JOHN C. LARSEN OF WALLINGFORD PASSES AWAY

John C. Larsen, 74, died Friday, Jan. 19, [1945] at 7 p.m. at his home west of Wallingford. Funeral services have not been completed as yet.

Mr. Larsen was born Aug. 23, 1870, near Flekkefjord, Norway. He came to this country at the age of 17 and moved to Jones county, Ia. At first he worked on a farm, after which he worked for a creamery for two years, for a railway for one year, and in a clothing store at Monticello for seven years.

Then he went to Alaska for six years. He was married Sept. 19, 1909, to Gretta Johanne Lavold and they moved to a farm in Emmet county, which he had purchased before his marriage.

Mr. Larsen is member of the Wallingford Lutheran church. He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Clayton Hubbard of Estherville, two sons, Lester of Wallingford and Trygve who is with the armed forces in Italy.
