Mrs. Martin Peterson, who has been ill for some time of cancer, died Monday [May 21, 1900]. Her maiden name was Anna Peterson. She was born Aug. 12, 1855. Funeral services were held on Wednesday. She leaves a husband and four children to mourn her loss. She was a quiet lady, sharing the respect of her neighbors and friends. The sympathy goes out to the family so sadly bereaved.

Note: Emmet County Birth Record Book 1 shows a 4th child, Peter Enwoll Peterson, born to Mr. and Mrs. Martin Peterson on Oct. 30, 1888 in Center township.
