Services for Beverly Peton, 68, of Estherville were held Tuesday, December 30, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Jane Johnston officiating. Burial was in East Side Memorial Cemetery at Estherville. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Estherville was in charge of arrangements.

She died Friday, December 26, 1997, at the Desert Samaritan Health Care Center in Mesa, Arizona.

Beverly was born February 25, 1929 in Armstrong to Bert Lee and Blanche L. [Hoppus] Clark. She began her education in the Armstrong schools and in 1938, the family moved to Estherville where she continued her education. They moved to Santa Monica, CA and completed four years of her education and then returned to Estherville and graduated from Estherville High School. On June 12, 1951, she was united in marriage to Clifford Peton at Jackson, MN. The couple lived for two years in Fayetteville, NC while Clifford was stationed at Ft. Bragg. The couple moved to Graettinger area where they lived until moving to Estherville in 1962. Beverly was employed at the Emmet County Courthouse and later as a secretary for Holy Family Hospital in Estherville for nineteen years until her retirement in 1988.

Survivors include: husband, Clifford Peton of Estherville; one son, James C. Peton and wife, Debbie of Gilbert, AZ; three grandchildren and one sister, Lorraine Lucas of Tacoma, WA.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church and the ELCW.
