MARY PETERSON OF HIGH LAKE TOWNSHIP DIES
Pioneer Resident of Emmet County Dead.

Mrs. Mary Peterson, 69, of High Lake died last night [Monday, Dec. 20, 1943] at her home on the east bank of High Lake. Mrs. Peterson had been ill since the last part of September. She was a patient for 10 days in the Park View clinic in Estherville and on Thanksgiving day she went to Rochester [Minn.] for treatment and examination. She returned to her home Saturday, Nov. 27, where she had been since.

Mrs. Peterson was born in Emmet county July 12, 1874. She always had lived in Emmet county and attended rural schools of this county.

Pioneer Residents.

The Peterson family lived on the home farm of Mrs. Peterson's parents, Peter N. and Martha Peterson, who came to this county as pioneers in the early 60's.

Peter B. Peterson, her husband, died in April 1911. One son, Blanchard, died during the influenza epidemic of 1918. The other two Peterson children, Maynard and Pearl, have been living with their mother.

Other survivors beside the son and daughter are two brothers, Peter and Nels; Louis Peterson, another brother, died a number of years ago and John Peterson, another brother, whose whereabouts is unknown.

Other Survivors. Mrs. Peterson also is survived by a niece and nephew, Mrs. Chris Martinson of Graettinger and Private First Class Gerhard Peterson, who is stationed at Hamilton Field, Calif.

Mrs. Peterson was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church of Wallingford. Funeral arrangements have not been made pending word from the nephew.
