Gregg A. Orman, 78, of Estherville died June 8, 1997, at Holy Family Health Services in Estherville. He was born March 25, 1919, in Bloomfield to Arthur Marion, Sr. and Minnie Amelang Orman. He married Ardis J. Dylla on June 4, 1977, at the Jackson Lake Lutheran Church in Amboy, Minn.

He received his education in the Bloomfield schools. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater where he was cannoneer and a member of the Military Police. He worked for John Morrell in Ottumwa until August 1973, then transferred to the Estherville plant where he retired in 1981. He was a member of Davis Christian Church in Ottumwa and lifetime member of the V. F. W. Post #3388 in Estherville.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Judy Kandrac of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sons, Jack of Bloomfield and David of Ottumwa; a brother, Freddie Orman of Riverside, Calif.; and two sisters, Virginia Edgington of Ottumwa and Dorothy Carter of Bloomfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Milre; and two brothers, Forest and Oscar.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Estherville, the Rev. Mark Gabbard officiating. Burial will be in East Side Memorial Cemetery in Estherville.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Hospice.
