Ardis Juanita Orman, 72, of Estherville, Iowa, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2004, after a 2 year illness with cancer. She lived at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and George Mathis, in Valley Spring, CA.

She was born December 21, 1931 in Guckeen, Minnesota, to Arthur James and Grace (Heinrich) Porter. Her father immigrated to the U. S. in 1911 at the age of 24. Ardis married Frank Paul Dylla on June 27, 1950, in Wells, MN. Frank passed away in 1976. Ardis then married Gregg A. Orman, June 4, 1977, in Amboy, MN, and he passed away June 8, 1997. She held different jobs throughout her life, she owned the A & J Cafe, in Wells, MN, for 4 years. She was a member of the Estherville Women's Auxiliary and the Fairmont, MN, Singles Club, and the Presbyterian Church of Estherville, Iowa.

She is survived by her son: Richard Paul and Candy Dylla, of Bend, Oregon; and another daughter: Jean and Steve Feist, Hayfield, MN; step-children: Dave and special friend, Gordy Kellander, of Fairmont, MN. Her twin brother, Arthur James, Jr., preceded her August 5, 2002.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Sunday, August 22, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Church, Valley Springs, at 1:00 p.m. A Memorial will be held at a later date in Estherville, Iowa. Donations may be sent to Amador County Hospice.
