Henry Olson, 81, Dies; Heart Ailment Fatal
Henry E. Olson, 81, a resident of Emmet county for many years, died Friday [Feb. 15, 1946] at 1 p.m. at Holy Family hospital from complications resulting from a heart ailment and a broken hip.
Olson broke his hip in a fall Feb. 3 and has been confined in the hospital since that date.
He was born in April, 1864, in Fayette county, Wisconsin, coming to Emmet county when a young boy. He was a carpenter in Estherville for many years and also farmed near Wallingford.
He is survived by two children, Mrs. A. J. Henderson of Kiester, Minn., and LeRoy Olson, who lives on a farm east of Wallingford.; one sister Mrs. Hans Johnson of Lamberton, Minn., five grandchildren, Arthur A. Constance, Edwin and Lowell Henderson, and Leonard Olson, and a cousin Conrad Anderson of Estherville. Mrs. Olson preceded him in death in 1902.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Mahlum and Sandin Chapel and at 1:30 at the Wallingford Lutheran church. The Rev. C. B. Gunderson will officiate. Burial will be in High Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel Saturday evening or Sunday.
