Mrs. L. B. Nelson Dies; Rites Set

Mrs. L. B Nelson, 83, a resident of Emmet County for the past 80 years, died at 8:40 p.m. yesterday [Oct. 8, 1961] at Holy Family Hospital. Death was attributed to complications of advanced age. She had been hospitalized for the past eight weeks.

The former Petra Rosenia Wolden, she was born Nov. 14, 1877 at Fountain in Fillmore County, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter P. Wolden.

She moved to Emmet County with her parents in 1879 and received her education in county schools.

On Feb. 23 1903 she was married to Lewis B. Nelson and the couple have since lived in the Wallingford area. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1953.

Mrs. Nelson was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church at Wallingford and held a life membership the the church WMF group.

Survivors include her husband, one son, Lavern of Minneapolis; and six daughters, Mrs. Jeffrey (Bertha) Olson, Mrs. Gilford (Myrtle) Osher, both of Wallingford; Mrs. Wayne (Lila) Bryan and Mrs. A. J. (Nora) Martyr, both of Estherville; Mrs. Vernon (Palma) Pool, Minneapolis; and Mrs. Ralph (Gladys) Robinson, Spearfish, S. D.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. C. H. Danielson, Estherville;; and Mrs. E. A. Storvick, Albert Lea; four brothers, J. M. Wolden, St. James, Minn.; Albert and Fred Wolden, Wallingford and B. O. Wolden of Estherville; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallingford Lutheran Church, the Rev. Norbert Jollivette officiating. Burial will be in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at Sandin Funeral Home from this evening until 11 a.m. Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state from noon until time of services. The casket will not be opened following the services.
