A Mass of Christian Burial for Veronica Maxine Heidecker, 84, of Wallingford was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 17 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger. Burial was at the St. Jacob's Catholic Cemetery, Graettinger.
Veronica Maxine Heidecker was born in Estherville, Iowa on May 20, 1921, the daughter of John and Mertyl (Wilson) Kathman. She was a 1938 graduate of Graettinger High School. On February 7, 1939 Veronica was united in marriage to Romaine Heidecker in Ayrshire, Iowa.
Veronica was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and of the former "Wallingford Globetrotters." She enjoyed spending time with family, visiting with friends, young and old and the Wallingford Pub.
On Friday, January 13, 2006, Veronica passed away at the Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Sandra Wolfe of Plymouth, MN, Kathy Bottenfield (Brad) of Graettinger, Deborah Richardson (Dale) of Buffalo Center, Jay Heidecker of Montezuma, sister, Marge Erickson of Sacramento, California; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; daughter Veronica Heidecker, son Tim Heidecker; two brothers, Cliff Kathman and Lawrence Kathman, and her grandson, Scott Wilson.
